Hey Betsy,

I'd love to see what you're up to in Chicago! Maybe on my way to or from Milwaukee in April (my boyfriend and I are going to a weekend workshop at Growing Power).

The newborn baby chick analogy is spot on!

Thanks so much for your enthusiastic response to my post and project. I really appreciate it! :)

Hi Liz! I also completed a permaculture design certification course at the end of October, this one offered by Midwest Permaculture in rural Illinois. I live in a very urban neighborhood in Chicago and so found your article and the links you provided especially relevant. And ... what an awesome design project! Thanks so much for summing it all up and putting it out there. I am still at the stage of groping to articulate this amazing, mind-bending experience and feel a little like a baby chick that's just emerged into really bright light: "Whaaa?" I know words will come and I'm working on a talk for local people, so reading your article was especially inspiring and energizing. Get in touch if you come to Chicago; there are some outstanding permaculture efforts right here in the city and I would be happy to take you around to them.

[...] I was exposed to a whole new (huge!) reading list, incredible people doing great things, and it sparked many cool ideas. Here’s a presentation of my design project. [...]

I have to congratulate you for your permaculture design certificate. Your plan is very well coordinated. I just hope this could be use on the long run. And the yoga class is cool.

@AmyOscar
Thank you for articulating all of those wonderful ways of describing the project. BTW, as an intuitive biological counselor, what is your methodology? Sounds intriguing!

@Adriana V
Thanks! I'd love to see you there with your family someday! ;)

What a happy, amazing world you've imagined! This is the kind of place I'd want to bring my family on a Saturday afternoon--something fun, useful, and interesting for everyone to do. Love it.

I'm inspired in so many ways:
As an Intuitive Biographical Counselor, I encourage my clients to make all kinds of maps: Of memories, key life events, dreams and specific experiences. I love your map of what will be, a vision board, with sewing and physical space.
